This is a lighting key i did as assignment for Nathan Fowkes color and lighting course I'm currently taking. The task was to create a lighting key with strong atmosphere based on a 3D-block-in of the scene. I'm pretty happy with the outcome =)
These are some color and composition studies done from moviestills and great artists like Paul Lasaine, Goro Fujita, and many others...
I tried to keep them under 20 minutes, some took up to 30-40 though.
